We spend so much time meeting our clients inside prison walls. Getting to stand beside them once they are home—and see the lives they are building—is something very special. Recently, we had the chance to catch up with Troy, and we’re happy to share that he is doing great.
Troy was sentenced to fifteen years in prison for trying to sell a lawnmower that turned out to be stolen. After he spent six years behind bars, we helped secure his early release. Today, Troy has a job, a home, a truck, and a bike. He is rebuilding his life and making the most of his freedom. Seeing him outside prison, with so much to look forward to, means a great deal to us.
Our work often involves sharing difficult stories and long waits for decisions. We also want to share moments like this: a client home, doing well, and moving forward.
Securing someone’s release is an important milestone. Seeing what they do with that opportunity is another reason this work matters. Troy deserves the credit for the life he is building, and we are so happy for him.
Thank you for following our work and celebrating these moments with us.
