Breaking news: Roman Flores denied by CCA

After 28 years in prison for a murder he did not commit, Roman Flores was denied relief by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals — without a single word of explanation.

Roman is clearly innocent. We obtained a confession from the real shooter, fully clearing Roman of any involvement whatsoever. Every piece of evidence that ever “suggested” Roman had any alleged role was contradicted by the State’s own files. And earlier this year, newly discovered evidence revealed fingerprints from the crime scene that exclude Roman and were compared two other prime suspects — evidence that was never disclosed to the defense.

This ruling marks a dark day for Roman and a troubling failure of our justice system. ⚖️

But we will not stop seeking justice for Roman. We are already preparing the next appeal, and we are working on a true-crime podcast about Roman’s case — because his story needs to be told, and the truth deserves to be heard.
